How hot does a reptile heat lamp get

Reptile heat lamps can reach varying temperatures depending on the wattage and type of lamp. Here's a general idea of how hot they can get:

  • Low-wattage bulbs (25-50 watts): These can reach surface temperatures of around 90-110°F (32-43°C).

  • Medium-wattage bulbs (50-75 watts): These typically reach 110-130°F (43-54°C).

  • High-wattage bulbs (100+ watts): These can reach temperatures of 130-150°F (54-65°C) or even higher, depending on the specific model.

For reptiles, maintaining the correct basking temperature is important, so it's essential to monitor the enclosure using a thermometer to ensure it is within a safe range for your pet.
